Roscoe Celebrates Labor Day

Roscoe celebrated Labor Day at the annual Labor Day parade in Henryetta with members of Labor and the Tulsa County Democratic Party

Victory is Sweet

February is Black History Month

Roscoe was honored at a recent Tulsa 66ers game for his commitment to his community and his contribution to the history of Tulsa. This honor was given in recognition of February as Black History Month. While attending Mrs. Fannie Hill’s funeral this week, former Mayor Roger Randle reminded those in attendance that Rev. Hill’s politics were one of the reasons the north community now has two black leaders, Roscoe Turner and Jack Henderson on the Tulsa City Council. As we move through February onto the March 7, 2006 primary, let us not forget the hard fight for equality that many who are no longer with us fought and that it can all be taken away by our own apathy. Let us honor those civil rights soldiers by making our voice heard with our vote.

These Democrat precinct officers are contributing $250 to Roscoe’s campaign. By contributing their labor to assemble Roscoe’s yard signs they are saving the campaign $250. That’s money that can be used on postage for mailings or other campaign expenses. Contribute to Roscoe’s campaign today by volunteering your time. Roscoe Files for Re-election

Roscoe arrived early Monday morning, January 9, 2006 at the Tulsa County Election Board to file his candidacy for re-election to the Tulsa City Council for District 3. Also on hand filing his candidacy was fellow city councilor Jack Henderson from Tulsa’s 1st District. Working together Roscoe and Jack have taken on a 25 year status quo that lead to Tulsa’s stagnation. With Tulsa’s big money forming organizations to change our city’s current form of government, it is imperative that Roscoe and Jack continue their work on the council to defeat those who think the north community deserves no more than one representative for its diverse population. As a team Roscoe and Jack will settle for no less than the fair and equal share the north community demands.

Special thanks to photographer – Doug Dodd (who we are certain scared the hell out of Mayor LaFortune when he walked into the election board office that morning to photograph Roscoe filing for office).
